Hear from Caroline on how she is preparing for the 20km of Lausanne!

Caroline is a sport enthusiast who decided a few years ago to prioritise her health, and has since found a balance between sport, work and family. She says: “You need to find the time to make sport a top priority but it is possible if you really want it to be”. If you bump into her at the Maison du Sport International, you will realise how her passion for sport is contagious and yes, she can talk about numbers as Head of Finance 😉 and she will definitely count how many of you she has convinced to join her for a run or a RowFit workout!

Tell us about your training schedule for the 20km of Lausanne:
I began training mid February for the 20km de Lausanne. I run twice per week and do cross training with RowFit and Pilates, as it keeps me strong and injury-free.

What do you like best about training?
I like challenging myself and I also think it’s a great opportunity to set an example for my kids that goals are achievable.

Have you participated in the 20km of Lausanne before?
Yes, I did several, for example last year I ran the 5km, and I also loved the 2km race which encourages families to run together. It was a lot of fun to run alongside my kids! I love the atmosphere and energy of the supporters cheering on all the runners.

What’s your strategy to be well prepared for the race?
Ensuring I get enough sleep and adequate nutrition to fuel my running. For the 10km distance, my strategy is to have enough energy for the last kilometer to give it my all and finish the race strong.

How do you find time to train with your work and family responsibilities?
I have to make time for myself and ensure that I train during the weekends as well. My daughter encourages me to do sports while she’s at her swimming practice, which works great!
